This handbook focuses on specific issues, needs and problems faced by PLHA in relation to CCMs. In addition to background information other sections include basic information on CCMs and discussion on why PLHA should participate, roles and responsibilities of PLHA involved in CCM processes, guidelines developed by PLHA for CCM good practice and various other important topics.

Enhancing the Greater Involvement of People Living with or affected by HIV/AIDS (GIPA) in sub-Saharan Africa (2000)
Describes an initiative to enhance the greater involvement of PLHA in the response to HIV/AIDs. Malawi and Zambia were selected to implement a two-year pilot project whose main purpose was to test the use of the national United Nations Volunteer (NUNV) modality as a possible mechanism for enhancing this greater involvement.
