Approaches to the Management of HIV/AIDS in Cuba (2004)
Part of a series of case studies on ART, this document describes Cuba's work on HIV and AIDS. Cuba is one of the few developing countries to provide comprehensive health care for people living with HIV/AIDS. Key to its success has been the political will to act and not wait for external assistance. Their HIV/AIDS program is based on a comprehensive health care system that has facilitated good control over blood transfusion and blood products as well as prevention of mother-to-child transmission.

Treating Opportunistic Infections Among HIV-Exposed and Infected Children (2004)
This report provides guidance on the treatment of opportunistic infections that are common in HIV-exposed and HIV-infected infants, children, and adolescents in the United States. Because the guidelines are targeted to the United States, the opportunistic pathogens discussed are those common to children in the United States and do not include certain pathogens that might be seen more frequently in resource-poor countries. The document provides information about the epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment for each pathogen.
