The Blue Star: Communication Strategy
This CD-ROM includes reports, presentations, TV spots, radio spots and promotional media from the "Blue Star" Water and Sanitation Campaign implemented in Nicaragua by the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs with funding from the US Agency for International Development.

In October 1998 Hurricane Mitch devastated a vast area of Central America; this led to a rapid increase in acute diarrheal disease and respiratory illnesses in the areas affected by the heavy rainfall and flooding. The goal of the "Blue Star" National Water and Sanitation Campaign was to increase the prevalence of appropriate hygiene and water management practices, and thereby decrease the incidence of diarrhea.
